It took me a few seconds to get my mind around his question when my 5-year-old son asked one day, “Where did God come from?”
On another day, my 4-year-old daughter impressed me when she asked, “Did I know Jack, Brittany, and Sam [her siblings] in Heaven before we were all born?” That such young minds can generate and ponder these profound existential questions is awe-inspiring, and it speaks to the miracle of wonder.
To be a “Maximum Strength Parent”, build wonder, encourage wonder, revel in wonder, and try to connect with your child by allowing your mind the freedom and curiosity to wonder as if you, yourself, were as smart as a 4-year-old.
