Two old friends (one named “Wage” and the other named “Sage”) crossed paths.
Here’s what they said:
WAGE: So how old is your son?
SAGE: 2 years, 4 months, 10 days
WAGE: Why so Precise?
SAGE: Because after today, he’ll NEVER EVER be 2 years, 4 months, 10 days old AGAIN!!
Of course, we all need to spend many hours each day working for the necessities (e.g., food, rent, clothing, etc.). But to be a “Maximum Strength Parent” strive to enjoy each day and remember the fact that your child will never ever again be the precise age he or she is today!
Remember the words of Bob Marley, who wailed, “Don’t gain the world and lose your soul; Wisdom is better than silver and gold.” Also, remember the words of Henrick Ibsen, who wrote, “Money brings food, but not appetite; Medicine, but not health; and Acquaintances, but not friends.” And finally, remember the old Hawaiian proverb “There are two ways to be rich, Get more or desire less.”
