Create
a calm and relaxed environment while dressing and undressing your child.
Make
dressing a fun activity.
Sing
songs, put on music, talk to your child while dressing and undressing.
Label
body parts and request your child to move them while being dressed or
undressed.
Partially
place your child’s body parts in or out of the appropriate piece of clothing.
Wait a few seconds to see if your child begins to help.
Give
your child verbal instructions accompanied with gestures as you take the
clothes off and put them on.
Reinforce
any participation with hugs, verbal praise, clapping, etc.
