Following 2-Step Related Directions
“One, Two, Buckle Your Shoe (Then Put On Your Coat)”

Once your child has mastered following simple 1-step directions, begin to give him more complex demands. These demands can involve simple 2-step but related directions with 1 object (e.g., “Get the tissue and wipe your nose.”).

mealtime say, “Junior get the napkin and wipe your face.”
During
bath time say, “Junior get the soap and wash your face.”
During
dressing say, “Junior get your shoes and put them on your feet.”
While
playing with your child say, “Junior get the ball and roll it to me.”
